Do you like them?
Do you think talent was the reason they are kings? or was it influence? what made them kings?
If you don’t like them, who would replace them?
does this question get asked a lot? sorry if it does.
BQ: Has anybody seen the movie "Where the Wild Things Are?" I recently purchased the soundtrack and liked it a lot. Plus I’ve been a fan of the book since kindergarden haha. Would you recommend?
Most definitely watch Where the wild things are.
it’s amazing.
I cried a lot though.
it’s kinda morbid.
As for Elvis he was never King.
He was just popular,
and his music was pretty much stolen from southern people.
Mainly blacks, but people were really racist back then.
I don’t consider him too important.

I agree on MJ as the king of pop for sure. The only one who could come close is the Beatles but they can be considered as rock too so MJ for sure. As for Elvis he is so influential and I love him but I would say Jimi Hendrix as the king of rock. He was almost as influential as Elvis but his music was uncomparable to anyone else. So if I had to choose I would keep MJ as the king of pop and make Jimi Hendrix as the king of rock.

Elvis didn’t "steal" music from anyone, Diana. He was influenced by black artists, yes. But saying he stole there music is a load of bullshit. And Elvis was from the South so get your facts straight.
Now do I think he’s the king of rock and roll? Either him or Chuck Berry. Personally Chuck Berry is my favorite rock & roll artist.
BQ: No but I read the book when I was a kid.

I’m completely prepared to get tomatoes thrown at me for this, but I never cared for either MJ or Elvis’ music. For me, Michael Jackson’s music was too high pitch, too odd, and just not my thing. As for Elvis, I like one of his songs. Just one. As far as the rest of his music goes, I could never find any emotion in his lyrics or attraction to his voice. For both artists, I think what made them popular was their uniqueness when they first came to the spotlight and the scandal that surrounded them. Elvis jumped in in a time where everyone was reserved and he sooo wasn’t which made him something different which in turn equaled instant popularity. With Michael Jackson, there was always an oddness about him from him going from black to white to the pedophilia scandal and eventually to his death and I think he was made popular more because of that than he was for his actual music.
BQ: The movie is so worth seeing. It’s awesome, I’ve already dragged my friends to the theater five times already to see it. ^_^
