Let’s get the ” … Let’s get the ” story straight “!
At the time this ceremony took place, Rolling Stone had just released it’s 100 greatest gtr players. Guess who wasn’t on that list??
The Rolling Stone heads were at the Harrison Tribute.
- And I believe Tom Petty was one of the 100.
Prince is not only deserving but, he supercides the talent of his peers. And they know it!
Oh man…Prince … Oh man…Prince takes command…I think though that Petty, Lynn, Dhani, and co. knew what they were getting when they had Prince join in….The purpose was to make the song really memorable and that’s what Prince did! I can’t fault him for that….
this is one of … this is one of those songs you just don’t with and they did a great job before prince came in but god that was hands down the most amazing cover/performance i’ve ever heard…prince is fukking amazing…improving on a classic clapton quitar riff is ridiculous hard to do…wow…first heard this live and it took this many years to believe it enough to post but years later it still gives me chills every time…wow.
They should’ve let … They should’ve let Dhani sing- after all- he’s George’s son and most deserves to be there since he helped George on George’s last album.
Errr… they’ve … Errr… they’ve got George Mk II on the stage and he didn’t sing a note.
So mental. I will never understand it – I’m sure he’s just being modest and not wanting to look like a Beatle try-hard, but come on!!! A one-off for his old man would not be a bad thing. He didn’t even get a song to himself at the George Tribute.
Great song to start … Great song to start off with and the showmanship from Prince as the icing on the cake. He is clearly the most talented person on that stage and definately would wipe the floor with clapton. As for channeling hendrix, i’m sure jimi was an inspiration to all.
Hadn’t seen this in … Hadn’t seen this in ages and found meself grinning as Prince just slayed them all. Dhani looked as thrilled as he could be, and even Tom nodded to Prince coming down te stretch. I have a feeling no matter what Prince did the wolves would be at the door. This was awesome!
