What are some of the great images of rock and roll?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under rock and roll pictures | 21 Comments »

You know, some of the most famous pictures throughout the history of rock that best represent the music.
Album covers, band pics, concerts etc.

such as: http://www.didatticadelbassoelettrico.it/links/img/London-Calling.jpg

If answers decided links aren’t going to work again, I’m gonna be pissed….
Fonzie: AWESOME!

squiks: That’s Paul Simonon of the Clash on the cover of London Calling

I was wracking my brain for cool images of Rush, Zepp, Queen, etc, but this photo of Johnny Cash is about as rock’n'roll as it gets. I wanna know the story behind it. But after I saw it, I had such great respect for him! Like he was sticking it to the system and The Man.

Isn’t it?! I love it! Though it’d be out of date, I like thinking of it as him sticking it to 90s country radio stations for ignoring country crossover pioneers like himself, Loretta Lynn, Buck Owens, etc….

I can’t think of any that weren’t mentioned already, except for maybe Jerry Garcia’s handprint, (missing a finger), but I thought that Fonzie’s answer was very fitting, as today is Johnny Cash’s birthday.

Sarah, I can’t send you the links because this is an open forum. It appears most of my rock and roll images were adult or at least questionable in nature. You and any of the "regs" know how to find me if you’re curious. Darn, I hadn’t realized I was such a bad example!

Edit: Fonzie and Darth – It seems that brilliant minds think alike. I predict that pic of JC will one day end up in the Smithsonian. It summarizes his career.
