Rock and roll was originally played for people to dance to. It is a music that is very beaty, and when I was younger, I would jive to it. jiving is a proper dance with proper steps. It is not a matter of just doing any old dancing.In dancing Jive, it is the female who does all the work anf her partner just decides what movement to do. Rock Music isn’t really for dancing but more for listening to.

Definitely! Rock music could be stuff like Guns ‘N’ Roses and Foo Fighters.
Rock ‘n’ Roll is stuff like The Hollies and Elvis Presley.
NEVER confuse the two!
I wouldn’t say Led Zeppelin are ‘Rock’ – they belong in ‘Classic Rock’ – like Deep Purple and AC/DC.

As has been stated Rock N Roll and Rock are 2 different genres of music.
Regarding someone saying that Led Zeppelin etc. are Classic Rock. Classic Rock is purely a pretty defined sub genre of Rock so it is still Rock.
Remember however that all Rock, Rock N Roll, Rockabilly, Metal etc. etc. all initially stem from blues music.
