Rock and roll song question?

Posted by admin on April 17th, 2010 and filed under beatles rock and roll | 10 Comments »

Alright, which of these 4 song do you think is better?

-Free bird – Lynyrd Skynyrd
-Stairway to Heaven – Led Zeppelin
-Hey Jude – The Beatles
-Another Brick in the Wall (pt.123) – Pink Floyd

I want to know which of them you think is better and more importantly WHY?

dam that is a hard one between led zeppelin and another brick in the wall
i am definitely a bigger fan of pink Floyd they are definitely talented artists
but i think stair way to heaven is such a lyrically deep song is gonna have take the winn

so stairway to heaven i would have to say

What do you think is the best indicator of "hitting rock bottom"?

a) eating frozen foods (i.e pies, sausage rolls or cakes etc) frozen, EVEN when you’re not dieing of starvation.

b) texting while on the toilet

c) eating a meat pie (aussie obviously) WITHOUT tomato sauce

d) talking to yourself… and just like having a conversation with another person, it is complete mindless babble.

yeah you can choose several i suppose

when are you deaf and you ask for help over the internet and on the phone and no one cares

Who nominates the artists for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

I know that it is group of people involved in music but I want to know specifically who was responsible for the decisions.

An A$$hole named Jann Wenner who believes Bands like The Monkees and Rush do not deserve too be inducted….

I love my Kinks and have been listening to their Best Of record all morning.

What are some other good Rock and Roll songs that are melancholy without being haunting; ones that sound like a quiet gray rainy day that is just quiet and calm.

Thank you!

"Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley (original by Leonard Cohen)

"Old Friends" by Simon & Garfunkel

"These Days’ by Nico

"Gone To America" by Steeleye Span

"My Old Friend The Blues" by The Proclaimers (originally by Steve Earle)

"Mystery Girl" by Roy Orbison

"Gardening At Night (Acoustic Version)" by R.E.M

"Misguided Angel" by The Cowboy Junkies (the whole album "Trinity Sessions" is perfect rainy day music)

"Perfect Day" by Lou Reed

"Moonlight Mile" by The Rolling Stones

"No Expectations" by The Rolling Stones

"For No-One" by The Beatles

I cant keep a beat to save myself. Will it be a mission for me to learn and should I even bother?

Most rock n’ roll has an easy beat to work with. It’s hard to begin from where you are because you’re trying too many things at once. Professional teachers will start you with some music with strong beats and steps that are very simple to get you pointed in the right direction, and you’ll be dancing in no time.

Can you name me some good rock ‘n’ roll or pop songs from the 50s and 60s?

I have all the Beatles songs so please don’t put them! I’m looking for not very well known amazing songs or ones that are your own personal favourites. I’m looking for good songs that for example Tarantino would choose on his films cos he has amazing retro taste. Thanks

"All Shook Up"
"Blue Suede Shoes"
"Rock Around the Clock"
"Chances Are"
"The Twelfth of Never"
"In the Mood"

These are just a few of that era.
