i wanna start listening to rock and what can you picture me head banging to also T BABY needs some rock and roll in her life??

Start off with some Tinted Windows, Perfect Circle, Smashing Pumpkins, Hanson, Cheap Trick, 12 Stones, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Morning Wood, 30 Seconds to Mars, Within Temptation… all good bands.

And tell me which one you prefer if you like. The Beatles version I prefer because John Lennon had a great Rock voice.

The Beatles cover of "You Really Got A Hold On Me" is one of my favourite songs of all time. George Harrison and John Lennon on harmony was great. And yeah John sang the hell out ofit.

I’m trying to remember the artist and song title (I think from the 80’s) in which the performer sounds depressed. He has a fast car but he can’t drive. He has an office but it’s only good for hanging records in. I can’t remember any of the exact lyrics to search for and none of the other topics he covers.

Well I have to do a project on the history of rock n roll. a 10 page essay and a board. I just don’t know what to talk about in the essay and the board?! Any ideas. I know im doing a time line. But other than that i need topics to talk about on my board. Also what can I talk about in my essay?! Thank you!

Now I don’t mean the deadly obvious ones like "Jonas brothers being Rock" or rubbish like that, I want the "controversial" ones, the ones that on a normal day might get Thumb Downed by the average R&P user.

A few of mine:
The best Bowie album: Unlike most of the Tools who seem to say "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust,"
I on the other will say that Station to Station is the best. It is one of those albums that you have to really listen to, notice the pain being brought out.

Grunge: Most people here seem to find it glorious, I on the other hand think it is boring and weak. It seems to lack energy and substance in my books.

The best rock artists die young: Sure, some greats went early, but just cause you pushed the daisies before the wrinkles set in doesn’t make you a god. Many a great is still living, Bowie, Bryan Ferry and Ian McCulloch to name a few proove this.

Hip-hop is talentless rubbish: No it is not, it takes as much of a genius to come up with a clever sample as it does to make a melody, and just cause it’s not "singing" doesn’t mean it shows less emotion.

that chuck berry is not one of the greatest guitarists to come along…everyone that came after him has had to step through the chuck berry door.

BQ: Has anybody seen the movie "Where the Wild Things Are?" I recently purchased the soundtrack and liked it a lot. Plus I’ve been a fan of the book since kindergarden haha. Would you recommend?

Most definitely watch Where the wild things are.

I cried a lot though.
it’s kinda morbid.
As for Elvis he was never King.
He was just popular,
and his music was pretty much stolen from southern people.
Mainly blacks, but people were really racist back then.
I don’t consider him too important.

I was thinking 50s rock and roll but I think it has been done a bit much. The girls are aged 7-11 years.

Does the Roll make any difference?

I think there is a difference in that Rock is a sub genre of Rock and Roll.
You have so many subs that run off from Rock music …
Soft Rock, Folk Rock, Jazz Rock, Hard Rock, soft rock, glam rock, heavy metal, progressive rock, and Punk rock. New Wave Rock, and alternative rock.
I am not sure that the Roll actually made a difference but I think it was a more confined genre, Rock has a lot of branches that come off of that trunk, known as Rock and Roll.
