This amazing concert brings together some of the true pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll music including Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, James Brown, Fats Domino and B.B.King.
Recorded in Italy in 1989 it features these legendary artists in performance of their best loved tracks such as Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag, Bo Diddley, Great Balls Of Fire, Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On and Blueberry Hill.
At the end of the concert all the performers come together for all-star jam that leaves the audience hollering for more.
It’s a rare event indeed that brings so many great live performers together on one bill and this DVD captures the real excitement of the evening.

My son loves classic rock and roll, like Ozzie Osbourn, Led Zepplen and Queen. I want to buy him posters for his 15th birthday, but they’re pretty expensive. Are there any good online stores that sell them for a reasonanble price, including the shipping and handling?
in the store.. i think? maybe in the rock store..

the 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 100 and if you wanna say the 2 go ahead.
(question inspired by hot space)
bq: what are you listening to right now?
bq2: favorite kind of food?
bq3: Wheres the beef?
On the 1 we have George Washington, the first president.
So I’d put Chuck Berry, pretty much being the creator of Rock and Roll.
On the 5 we’ve got Abraham Lincoln, who kept the nation together.
I guess Lennon, who united British and American music forces.
On the 10 we’ve got Hamilton, the first US secretary of Treasury.
I’m gonna say Elvis, because he was one of the first to make Buttloads of money.
On the 20 we’ve got Andrew Jackson, 7th president and tough motherfucka.
So I’m going to say Ozzy Osbourne. He freaking bit a bat’s head off… Also he kind of marked a new era and rock, creating metal. Some rock fans hate metal others love it. Kinda like some people hate Jackson and others love him.
On the 50 dollar bill we have Ulysess S. Grant, possibly one of the worst presidents ever.
I’m going to say Kurt Cobain. Don’t get me wrong I like Nirvana, but among rock legends he seems to fit in the least. His skills are minimal, but he still affected Rock music forever.
On the 100 we have ol’ Benjamin. He was one of the wisest and better liked people who was a major force in the revolution.
I have to say Bob Dylan. He is a wise man like Benjamin and he became an icon of protest and peace.
On the 2 we have Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration.
I’ll say Jimi Hendrix who’s guitar work was a declaration of independence from the tyranny of dull music.

ABBA singing ‘Dancing Queen’ live in London 1979 here:
** Today, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced that ABBA was included in the 2010 artist inductees.
The 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer inductees were chosen by over 500 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. Artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twenty-five years after their first recording is released.
All inductees are ultimately represented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Through approaches as creative and diverse as the music itself, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
tells the story of rock music with its exhibits, education programs and Library and Archives, which will open to the public in downtown Cleveland in late 2010.

**** Today, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced ABBA, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges as its 2010 artist inductees. Also being inducted this year as individual recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award will be David Geffen and songwriters Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Elle Greenwich, Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell. The ceremony will take place on March 15, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and will air live on Fuse, Madison Square Gardens national music television network, as part of the three-year broadcast deal between the Foundation and Fuse.
We are very happy to present this years inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as they represent a great cross-section of artists that define the broad spectrum and history of rock and roll and people that have contributed immeasurably to our business says Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President & CEO Joel Peresman.

"Rock" is short for "rock and roll," which was a euphamism for sex.
