Okay so I’m writing about how the Beatles and the Kinks inspired rock music here in the U.S. I already did U2 and how not only did they add to our rock music, they were able to give back to their charities and put a good name to the rock industry. I would like to write about the rolling stones next. How did the rolling stones affect the way we have rock today? Like, specific examples? Or if you can think of a better band as an example that would be great. A web link would be great. Thanks
well, The Beatles were really different when they first came to the US. They had long hair, they were very cheeky, and the US really hadn’t seen much of that before. One reason why The Beatles were so big was because people couldn’t compare them with anything or any other band, ya know? The BEatles were just different and one of a kind, they paved the way for a lot of bands.
Hope I helped at least a little bit = /

Well..Elvis was a huge inspiration, you don’t wanna miss out on that.
Alice Cooper started Shock Rock/lots of Glam aspects (New York Dolls, Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, etc. all cite him as an influence).
The Who was one of the pioneers of more ‘rebellious’ rock.
..If I’m not mistaken, the New York Dolls also had a lot to do with the punk movement.
Black Sabbath was the first heavy metal band, so that’s a huge thing.

I rekon there are bands more influential on rock & roll than the rolling stones. Take The Who for example. They set the stage for rock bands like The Clash and Led Zepplin to come through. They were one of the first bands to come through with the real rock stuff like we have now today.
